I AM SO SORRY!

You guys have NO idea how ridiculously sorry I am for not updating!!!! I just lost interest for awhile, but now reading through this again, after that like, almost 10 month break I think I might update this :) Just less frequently. KIMMMER87, THIS ONE'S FOR YOU CHICA!!!

The rest of the night that followed had been amazing. I'd been listening to my iPod and discussing music in general with Aidan for gosh knows how long(Audrey and Rose SWEAR it was at least an hour) then we got called in to the main room for the opening and introductions. We all got up from our separate perches, And started filing in to the main room. I got up and nearly smacked into Devin as I maneuvered my way around the couch. I waited up for Aidan. "Ladies first." he said, motioning for me to go ahead. 'god, he's so sweet.' i thought, when it got REALLY cold, so i asked my cabin's counselors, Aimee and Haylie, if i could grab my sweater. Aimee replied, "Yeah, but be fast. Run if you can." So I ran, grabbed my sweater off my bed and ran back. I was so out of breath i wasn't paying attention, swung open the door, and heard a loud "OOF." I looked up and saw that I had smacked Aidan in the face, WITH THE DOOR. I glanced behind him and saw my girls laughing uncontrollably. "Oh my God," I panted, "You hurt?" "Nah, that's okay, it's all good. Don't worry about it." I could still see the girls struggling to pay attention to our camp leader, Eden. They kept glancing over at me and giggling into their hands. `oh girls, ì'm gonna get you back for this' i thought. So I sat down in between Dani and Layla that they'd saved for me and listened to Eden.

"So ladies and gentlemen, or ladies AND your gentlemen," She shot a look in the general direction of Rose and Lucas, who had been holding hands behind the chairs, "Let's go over a few of the basics, shall we? First off, welcome back to our veterans, and to our newest members, Welcome! And now for the boring part, the rules." She rolled her eyes sarcastically, guaranteed trying to imitate us. "Lights out is, officially, 9:30, but you all must be in bed by 10:30. Anyone seen up past 10:30 will be approached about it. Girls must leave the boys cabin by 9:00 and vice versa, you're all old enough now, i'm sure you all don't need me to justify the reasons for that rule. No talking back to counselors OR me, and verbal or physical attacks will NOT be tolerated. That is all. Now you guys can all go back to your iPods and whatever other technology your parents buy you." She shot a smile in my direction. I had her approval. Wait, i thought, nothing about camper/counselor relationships? Killer. So we exited the main room and I re-staked my place next to Aidan. "You SURE you're okay? Those doors can be MURDER if you're not careful."

"Yeah, i'm sure. I told you, don't worry about it." The girls came over.

"Hey Kayti, wanna go up to the cabin? We wanted to ask your opinion on our Last Dance oufits." Layla trilled, I could hear the excitement of everything bubbling up in her voice. "That okay with you?" I asked Aidan. "Yeah, go on ahead, i'll catch up with you in a bit." "Awesome, thanks." i said smiling. " OH! We didn't ask Eden what the theme was! Hey Aidan, d`you know what the theme is this year?" "Yeah, it's Masquerade. Sounds cool." His voice was genuinely excited about it. "Really? That's epic! Catch up with you later!" And i ran up the hill after my friends.

We ran up the hill outside and all collapsed into our bunks simultaneously, breathing heavy.

"Masquerade! Do you know how INSANE that is?!" Dani squealed, tearing open her, as usual, bright turquoise duffel bag. The girls nodded and "Mmhmm"'d in agreement. I shot up, opening my own duffel.

"Okay ladies, time to spill. Last Dance outfits. Now." I demanded jokingly, and the girls complied, tearing out their dresses and displaying them for me to see.

Audrey's was gorgeous, a dark pink bubble dress with rhinestone details on the top, Dani's was a long, dark green stunner with gold sparkles that complimented her dark brown eyes perfectly, Layla's was, as usual, the cutest thing I'd ever seen. An adorable little purple halter dress with black glitter on the edge of the skirt, and Rose's, I noticed and rolled my eyes, was the flashiest one, of course, being a long silver mass of shiny fabric, made even shinier by the swirls of crystals trailing up from the end of it.

"Jeez, Rose, what is this, the Grammys?" I joked, reaching over to wrap an arm around her in a one-arm hug.

"Shut up, Kayti. Now where's YOUR fabulous dress you wouldn't stop gushing about when we were all texting last week?" Rose challenged, raising an eyebrow suspiciously.

"Fine, fine." I pulled it out and almost instantly my friends' jaws dropped. I looked down at my dress, a blood red strapless dress that fell just above my knees and tied with a black velvet ribbon around the waist.

"Oh." Dani started.

"My." Layla continued.

"GOD!!" Audrey and Rose squealed in time. So clearly they like it, I thought.

"Oh come on y'all, it's not that big a deal." I shrugged, and the girls looked shocked.

"No big deal?! NO BIG DEAL!? Are you KIDDING?! That thing looks PERFECT for you! Go try it on. Now." Layla dared me, smirking. The others agreed.

"Oh fine y'all. But break out the cameras and you're all dead. I know you all can get internet on your phones out here and if I see pics on Twitter before the end of the day I'll kill y'all." I joked, skipping into the bathroom attached to the cabin and changed out of my jeans and tshirt into the dress. When I came back out, as expected, the girls squealed. Loudly. I twirled around jokingly and posed a few times, faking a model pout. We all erupted in laughter.

"You're so gorgeous!" Audrey complimented, and I smiled back at her.

"Thanks, 'Drey."

"If Aidan doesn't want you when he sees you in that masterpiece then the guy's probably gay." Dani laughed, and I glared at her as the other two agreed.

"How many times must I say it? We're not. Going. To happen. We're friends and happen to have the same taste in bands. I doubt that even if we were going to end up together, we couldn't with Eden down our throats." I laughed. I loved the woman, but sometimes she just got a little too strict on us. The girls looked up at the door past me in time, and I spun around suddenly to see what they were staring at. When I saw who was there, I blushed. Aidan had walked in, seeing me in my dress. I pushed my platinum side bangs out of my eyes and smiled.

"Hey." I greeted, and he blushed.

"H-hey, Kayti, girls." He greeted us, stammering. "The welcome dinner's in ten, I was sent to let you know. See you girls down there?" We all nodded, and my friends tried to hide their giggles behind their hands. "Oh, and Kayti?"

"Yeah?" I responded nervously, shifting from one foot to the other.

"Get changed first, we don't want you getting any burger junk on that dress." He smiled and turned, walking out the door. As soon as I realized I was blushing I reached up and rubbed my face, trying to get rid of the red color.

"He liiiiikes you! He liiiiiikes you! He liiiikes you!" The girls chanted when the door shut. I glared.

"He. Does. Not." I protested, though I knew somewhere it was true. I can't go out with him though, we're getting too close as friends. If we ever broke up, I'd lose him forever. I'd finally admitted to myself. So THAT was why I was being so hard headed about it. I couldn't tell the girls that though, they'd laugh at me. I was always the hopeless romantic of the group, and the others never got it. I was the one who always wanted something more than a mindless summer fling that wouldn't last after camp, I wanted something real. I quickly changed out of the dress and threw it back onto my bag, grabbing my headphones and opening the door, the girls followed.

"Oh yeah, I'm so sure. He STUTTERED when he saw you! Friends don't do that." Dani laughed. I hit her playfully.

"Shut up." I grinned, and we opened the door and joined everyone for dinner in the Firepit.

Maybe I really do have a chance with him...
